Auto Transport FAQ

Yes! Your vehicle will be fully insured during the entire time it is in transit. From the moment the vehicle is picked up to the moment it is delivered at your front door your vehicle is FULLY covered by our insurance. Every vehicle that we ship is covered for the current market value of the vehicle based on the year, make, model and condition of the vehicle. This means that whether your car currently has a value of $3,000 or $90,000 your car is covered by our insurance for the full amount. This insurance covers your vehicle if it gets any dents, scratches or ANY kind of damages. When your vehicle is delivered the driver will be give you a copy of the inspection report and if you see any damages all you have to do is mark them on the inspection report and have the driver sign it. After that all you need to do is mail them to Van 3 Auto Transport and we are going to file a claim with our insurance and do whatever it costs to fix all dames that have occurred during transit.

The time it takes to ship your vehicle depends on the distance between the pick-up and delivery locations. If the distance is less than 500 miles it takes no more than 2-3 days. If it is from 500-1000 miles it takes from 3-4 days. If the distance is from 1000-1500 miles it usually takes 4-5 days. If it is more than 1500 Miles then it takes about 7 days. There are many factors that could impact delivery dates like weathertraffic and in some cases truck breakdowns. At Van 3 Auto Transport we are proud of our 99% On Time Delivery Rate and we are going to do our best to keep delivering every vehicle we ship on time.

It is strongly recommended that there is a person on both pick-up and delivery ends. It does not have to be the owner of the vehicle, it can be any designated friend, relative or neighbor. Our drivers do special vehicle inspection reports when they pick-up and deliver vehicles. This is to make sure that the vehicle gets picked up and delivered in the exact same condition without any scratches or damages. Before the vehicle is picked up our driver walks around it to inspect it for any pre-existing damages along with the person at the pick-up location. He notates any damages on the inspection report and then gives a copy to the person at the pick-up location. When the car is being delivered, the person on the delivery end has the opportunity to walk around the vehicle and carefully inspect if for any damages that have occurred during transit. If there are no damages both the driver and the person on the delivery end sign the inspection report showing that the car has been safely transported to its final delivery point.

Van 3 Auto Transport specializes in Door to Door Shipping. This means that we are going to pick up your vehicle from your front door. You will not have to worry about driving to a terminal or another location across town, your car will be picked up directly from your home. Door to Door Shipping with Van 3 Auto Transport is the most popular car shipping method in the industry because it saves you a lot of time and money. You do not have to worry about dropping off your vehicle far away from your house and you do not have to look for alternative methods to get back home (taxi, bus or a ride from a friend).

In some rare cases, if you live in a small neighborhood, our driver may call you and ask you to meet with him somewhere near your home. This is usually due to the fact that in your area the city prohibits giant trucks from going on certain roads. If you do need to meet with our driver, it will not be more than 3 miles away from your house and our driver will give you a ride back.

The earlier you schedule the shipping of your vehicle the better off you are going to be. Every car hauler can usually fit between 7 to 10 cars all at one time. If you need your car picked up a week from today you have a very high chance of finding an available spot for your vehicle on that truck. If you need your vehicle picked up tomorrow, then most likely the truck will already be filled up and you may need to wait for us to find another truck who can pick up your vehicle. If you know the date you will need to ship your vehicle, it is best to schedule your car shipping right away so that your vehicle can be shipped on the dates that work for you and your schedule. We encourage our customers to schedule their car shipping at least 3 or 4 days before their desired pick-up date.
